CARIOCA is a fascinating contender after a Listed win in Italy last month and is fancied to win today at the main expense of Chachamaidee and Hafawa. Marco Botti's Rakti filly has progressed with every start and she took the leap up in grade in her stride when winning in Milan last month. Considering that was just her fourth start, and indeed her first since winning a Kempton maiden, the performance looks all the more impressive and with Fallon booked a good run is anticipated. Chachamaidee represents the best trainer of fillies that the 21st century has seen and she is respected as she steps up to a mile for the first time, Decorative romped home on debut at Yarmouth and is respected as she steps up in grade and trip, whilst Deirdre has run in some hot races of late but to be fair she looks to have found another today. Of more interest is Hafawa who ran well behind Shamwari Lodge last time and will appreciate racing against her own age group again, Muwakaba is related to plenty of winners, whilst Snow Fairy looks a player on her third to Sent From Heaven at Goodwood and should appreciate the better ground today. Sweet Sonnet won at the track on her debut and is fancied to run well on this reappearance; as a sister to plenty of mile-plus winners in the States and out of a dam that was classy she should feature in the finish. An open race again but the vote goes to Carioca.
