Verdict

Maze has been a disappointment since winning his first two starts, including the Chesham at Ascot, so we will pass him over and instead side with Irish challenger Shining Armour ahead of Vhujon and Major Eazy. The selection comes here on the back of a good win at Fairyhouse when blinkers were applied for the first time. Whilst that form doesn't look out of the ordinary, there is no doubt that he has plenty of potential and as this looks his best trip at present, a big run can be expected. Vhujon belied his huge odds when second last time out and David Evans' charge can be expected to run well once again, although he would prefer the ground to dry out. Look Busy is a real speedball but needs to prove that he stays this trip fully, whilst Lytton has very solid claims based on his good effort in a Group Three last time out. Not beaten far at the line he could be a player in this contest. Loch Jipp is another who drops in class and John Wainwright's runner must be respected although his best runs have come on quicker ground. Major Eazy bounced back to form last time out with a win at Salisbury and whilst this race looks a lot tougher he has the potential to go well on ground that suits. At a price Max One Two Three could be underestimated at a big price, however it is Shining Armour who is taken to win.
