In depth

Verdict

An open-looking affair in which narrow preference is for Gallileo Figaro ahead of Mirjan and Kayf Aramis. The selection comes here chasing the hat-trick and has been a revelation since being stepped up in trip. He is effective on soft ground and he is fancied to run well despite a further three pound rise in the weights. Kayf Aramis must be a threat despite being out of the weights as he stays so well and loves getting his toe in. Mirjan is a very useful dual performer and whilst he is getting on in years, this looks a less competitive race than he won when last seen. He should go well although he is now just above his highest winning mark. Atlantic Coast is a bit of an enigma and needs some knowing; don't be surprised to see him being cajoled along at halfway but he stays well and cannot be ruled out. Prince Zafonic is yet to win in 15 starts and is paying the price for some consistent runs; he needs to drop in the weights and may prefer quicker ground. Monolith stays well and cannot be ruled out along with Missoula, however Gallileo Figaro is progressive and is fancied to win again.
