Verdict

SUN CENTRAL and Montaser go in search of black type and there isn't much between the pair on the book. The latter scored snugly over course and distance last time but Sun Central has given the distinct impression that this is his perfect distance. He was staying on strongly at the end of 2m at Haydock last time, scored over today's trip on his reappearance and had the requisite pace to land a competitive Ascot handicap over 1m4f last term. He just gets the nod over Montaser, although it is dangerous to overlook Songcraft. He was out of his depth behind the ill-fated Thomas Chippendale at Royal Ascot but previously impressed over course and distance and should appreciate this drop in grade and rise in distance.
