Verdict

Outer Space was beaten five lengths despite finishing second in the Cornwallis at Ascot and Haikbidiac ran well but came up short in a Group 3 at Chantilly last time. Brave Vision was well beaten in pattern company at Kempton last month and the other Godolphin runner, Figure Of Speech, could only manage fourth in the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury. RUFFORD finished ahead of the latter when runner-up to Supplicant in the same race and a chance is taken that his much improved effort wasn't solely down to the soft ground. Richard Fahey's colt gets the vote with the likes of Online Alexander and Mushir untried at this level.
