Verdict

Gabrial The Thug finished second to stablemate Gabrial's Kaka at Chester on his debut and Esteaming stayed on for the runners-spot over a longer trip at Bath last month. Both could figure but the vote goes to SOVIET ROCK. He improved to finish fifth in a decent maiden at Newmarket last time when Seamless finished ninth. Newcomers to keep an eye on include Dame Nellie Melba, a half-sister to the smart Gateman and Zeva, a 180,000gns filly related to a Group 3 winner. But Kuantan One may come out best of the debutants as he's a brother to last year's Group 1 Phoenix Stakes winner La Collina.
