In depth

Verdict

Eastern Anthem, Bauer and Gull Wing make the shortlist here with Eastern Anthem taken to come out on top and concede the weight. Gull Wing improved for a step up in trip at Nottingham on his seasonal re-appearance and he will enjoy this surface as well. His defeat at Hamilton last time was a slight setback but he wasnt beaten far and could run well at a nice price. Bauer has failed to reproduce last season's progressive form but he has been highly tried and this looks a fraction easier. He prefers faster ground however and any rain would hamper his chances. A winner at Nottingham on soft ground on his debut, Eastern Anthem ran well on his re-appearance, just touched off by Peppertree Lane. He will be fitter for that run, and after staying on well on that occasion, he will be suited by the longer trip here. EASTERN ATHEM is taken to have his supporters singing.
