Verdict

Chivers landed a Class 5 handicap on soft ground at Carlisle by no less than nine lengths and though penalised 6lb the assessor has hit him with a 10lb rise. This is a step-up in class and on vastly different ground so he's overlooked in favour of TRENDSETTER. John Quinn's charge has been in fine form since returning from a spell over hurdles and finished a close third here before landing a similar grade handicap at Chester. He's up 5lb but looks capable of overcoming the extra and might prove better than an 87-rated performer in the future. Ridgeway Storm has been in very good form on the Polytrack at Kempton and has no problems with the trip while Rosairlie comes here in good form having easily beaten subsequent winner Tuscan Gold at Ripon. Gabrial The Terror's four-race winning streak at Wolverhampton came to an end when tackling soft ground at Musselburgh.
