Verdict

Examiner was well behind Empress Ali when Tom Tate's filly beat Master Of Finance at Chester a fortnight ago. The latter is slightly better off on today's terms and there's little between the pair again. Lacan never figured behind the progressive GM Hopkins at Newmarket on his handicap debut but has more scope than the likes of Lily Rules, God Willing and End Of Line. The latter was a well beaten third in Listed company at Sandown in May when INDY finished runner-up. David Barron's colt is having his first start since but gets a tentative vote as he should have improved during the interim.
