    Verdict

The ground has come up in favour of Ptarmigan Ridge, who is selected in preference to Catch The Cat and Blackheath. The Linda Perratt-trained gelding has held his form well this season and will be very hard to beat if he can stay out of trouble today. Catch The Cat is a speedy individual that can give the selection plenty to think about, while Blackheath has claims if he runs anywhere near his best. Seven No Trumps and Tally are others to look at for each-way players but nothing makes as much appeal as Ptarmigan Ridge on the predicted going.
