In depth

Verdict

A very competitive handicap can go to Go Tech, but Jabaar, Stretton and Petrula are among a number of others to consider. Go Tech comes here on a role, having won his last two races, the latest coming at Redcar six days ago. He won in good style that day and remains interesting, even under a penalty. Jabaar ran a blinder to be second in a valuable handicap at Newbury last time and, with the ninth there having gone on to land the Cambridgeshire, there is nothing wrong with the form and, if he's in a similar mood, should run well. Trueno will prefer today's trip than the 12 furlongs he ran over last time, so might go well, while course and distance winner Stretton is back to a winning mark so it would be no surprise to see him get amongst the money. Trainer Richard Fahey runs two here, Ski Jump and Altay. The former is possibly better over further and the useful hurdler Altay has shown his best Flat form over further. Do not rule out a good run from Pertrula, who is another to be back to a winning mark, while Baltic Blazer is a lightly-raced, potential improver. However, for the winner, we like the look of Go Tech.
