    Verdict

Not perhaps as straightforward as the weights might suggest here but nonetheless MIA'S BOY is given the vote to win, but Charm School is expected to go very well in opposition. The selection drops back in trip here after a couple of decent runs over a mile. He doesn't mind any ground and looks like being very competitive in this weaker event than he has contested of late and as a tough sort he is taken to repel all comers. Charm School is a very interesting opponent. The gelding hails from the in-form John Gosden establishment and has not won since a soft ground maiden success on debut last year. He should still be effective over this short and first-time blinkers might help elicit improvement. Peter Chapple-Hyam looks to be getting his inmates into full swing and he saddles Shallal, who was highly tried in both the Greenham and then the Jersey Stakes last year, finishing last of 16 in the latter. This trip looks to be ideal and he is worth watching today. Mutheeb was green when winning at Lingfield on his only start as a three-year-old and he will surely show more this term, though he has a fair bit to find on the figures here and we prefer Mia's Boy.
