Verdict

MR FANTOZZI was a winner over this trip when last seen and is put forward to score again today at the main expense of Astroangel and Wooden King. The selection had been disappointing since winning at Southwell last July however he was tried in cheek-pieces last time out and was soon in front. He rallied splendidly under pressure and gave his trainer his first winner. The four-year-old has proven a little inconsistent in the past but is expected to follow up here. Astroangel hasn't been seen since September of last year but shaped with promise last season. She remains winless but is handicapped to strike should things go her way. Wooden King deserves credit for his last outing where he ran a fine race, holding off all but the winner. He represents a stable in excellent form right now and he might be able to capitalise now brought out again soon. However his overall profile is pretty unappealing and we think a finish among the minors looks to be in the offing. Hits Only Cash looks best of the remainder. He was third on his seasonal return last time and is unlikely to be far away this afternoon. As is the norm a market check is advised, but in a race we expect to be dominated by three horses, Mr Fantozzi gets the vote.
