In depth

Verdict

The market will be the best guide to the chances of SOMMERSTURM after a break but there's no doubt that this once-useful gelding has the ability to make a mockery of his current handicap mark. He gets the nod in a modest finale as Cotton Grass disappointed when favourite over 2m here earlier in the month and Young Jackie, who may struggle to last home, is 4lb wrong in the weights. Brouhaha may be the pick of the remainder, therefore, as he won off an 8lb higher mark at Haydock last year and generally competes at a higher level than this.
