In depth

Verdict

MISS CHAUMIERE is chanced in a weak race. Michael Bell's filly comes here on the back of a poor Brighton run but the drop in trip today will suit and she should be more at home on this ground than some of her rivals. JP Guillambert looks an interesting booking for Shercon but the gelding needs to improve, a comment that also applies to Aserales but the handicapper is giving her a chance today. Lady Brickhouse is more consistent than most of her rivals and that asset alone means she makes the shortlist. Master Of Song is another who can be relied upon and he was in good form when seen a couple of months ago, with three second-placed finishes to his name. Cuckoo Rock seemed to improve for cheek-pieces last time and along with the unexposed Cunning Plan, an eye-catcher at Kempton last time, is respected in this line-up. Rodrigo De Freitas won well at Windsor but faces very different conditions this afternoon.
