      Verdict

      Michael Jarvis had a fine strike rate at this track and his successor, Roger Varian, can land his first winner here with LONG AWAITED. He scored at Ripon before finishing fourth at Chester on his handicap debut and has lots of scope for improvement. He had Victorian Bounty well behind last time and the latter looks high enough in the weights now, while Ursula was a disappointing favourite at Ayr last month but the soft ground may have been a valid excuse. Miss Polly Plum demolished her rivals at Lingfield last month but the handicapper looks to have overreacted as she finished last off a 15lb higher mark at Doncaster recently.
