The feature event of the day can go to Reunite ahead of Samira Gold, Athenian Way and Lake Toya to name but a few. Godolphin have a strong hand here, with both Lake Toya and Reunite reappearing. Preference is for the latter, the mount of Frankie Dettori, on the strength of her past record. Fifth in last year's Ribblesdale, she has not been seen since being touched off in the Group 3 Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor last August, but goes well fresh and has reportedly been well tuned up. Kerrin McEvoy also dons the blue silks to partner Lake Toya who opened her account for current connections in a Listed contest at Windsor last November. She is likely to find conditions too fast today, but will improve for the run. A bigger danger to the selection may emerge in the shape of Samira Gold, who bounced back to form with a Listed success at Goodwood just over three weeks ago. She can pay to follow this autumn, and can go close today. Athenian Way chased home Honolulu before finding Peeping Fawn and co too tough in the Irish Oaks, and has since left John Oxx. She is another that will appreciate the faster ground, and is one to bear in mind once she settles in. Sunlight failed to show her true form in a Folkestone handicap, and will be suited by a strong, steady pace. She should not be ruled out of a play for the placings, while the likes of Sell Out and Shorthand have what it takes to figure somewhere along the line. However, we fancy that the class of Reunite will prevail on this occasion at least.
