In depth

Verdict

Namroud, Outer Hebrides and Nashaab are the three to look at here and preference is for Outer Hebrides to come out on top. Following three disappointing efforts in handicaps, Richard Fahey drops Namroud to selling class here and he can go well. A winner of handicaps on a sounder surface earlier in the summer, he will appreciate the better ground here and is respected. The last time David Evans dropped Nashaab into claiming class he obliged over this trip. He has been beaten in handicaps since but he has run well in defeat, finishing second recently, and is another who can go well. Outer Hebrides was claimed by Jim Boyle having finished third in a Windsor claimer three outings ago and he has run well in handicaps since, finishing a close fourth at Newbury before just failing to get up over Kempton's seven furlongs last time. This extra furlong and drop in grade looks likely to suit and Outer Hebrides can defy top weight.
