In depth

Verdict

Dhaular Dhar showed signs of coming into form at Epsom last week but would undoubtedly prefer a softer surface and a safer bet looks to be Song of Vala, who is preferred to Sonny Parkin. The last mentioned is a consistent performer and is entitled to be thereabouts again but could probably do with being dropped a couple of pounds. Boundless Prospect has run well off today's mark in his last three starts and has to be respected, while top weight Little Venice has a career high mark to overcome. Crail faces no easy task back on turf and of more interest may be Buster Hyvonen, who is less exposed than most of these and may do better back on today's faster ground than at Leicester last time. Song of Vala was good value for his win at Brighton last month though and lost little in defeat behind the well-handicapper Out For A Stroll back at the same venue subsequently so remains potentially well treated and he gets the vote.
