Verdict

Ferruccio is creeping up the handicap, despite not winning, though he only went down by half-a-length at Leicester last month having gone even closer at Nottingham in May and this longer trip should suit on breeding. England Rules won at Windsor in May and had excuses when well beaten on his handicap bow at Sandown subsequently, while Quiz Mistress looked to be on the way back when second over a longer trip at Wolverhampton last month. TOP DIKTAT has his first run on turf and was well beaten on the Polytrack at Kempton last time. That run is best ignored, however, as the gelding was trapped wide throughout and hampered when trying to close on the leaders. Ryan Moore's mount should relish the extra here and the handicapper may well have let him in lightly - he could be the value in this.
