Verdict

Not a single jot of placed form in evidence but the best sign of promise is unquestionably held by John Gosden's Dansili colt, UTTERANCE. Held up early on, he stayed on nicely enough in the closing stages of a decent-looking Newmarket maiden contest to claim fifth spot. Notable improvement is anticipated and he looks the one to beat. The market should illuminate the chances of other lightly-raced sorts, of which Langham Lily, a fair seventh in that Newmarket heat, and James Toller's unraced Oratorio filly, Spark Of Genius, make most appeal at this stage.
