In depth

Verdict

Mark Johnston is in top form at present and he can land this juvenile event with Mr Rooney, Tafilah and John Claude could be the main dangers. The selection is a well bred son of Mujadil who cost 20 thousand euros as a yearling. He was quite an early foal and is certain to know his job first time up. Tafilah is the form horse having chased home Aboyne over course and distance last time. It didn't appear to be the strongest of events, but neither does this and she should be in the shake up. Rundear was well behind Danjet on her debut but should improve, but a bigger threat may come from John Claude a newcomer from Neville Callghan's yard. Frankie Dettori is on board this son of Night Shift who should be noted for any significant market moves. It is a race where the betting will be a great help but we expect Mr Rooney to be well supported and this one gets our vote.
