Verdict

Cap Elorn was much-improved last time to put it mildly when finally finding some form for Lawney Hill after joining the yard over a year ago from Paul Nicholls. Hill is adept at improving horses moving in from other yards and Cap Elorn may well follow-up having discovered the winning habit. However, he concedes plenty of weight to many of these and the consistent if limited MAD PROFESSOR is preferred in receipt of nearly two stone, despite being 3lb out of the handicap. He was a solid second at Southwell last time and, whilst there's unlikely to be any improvement in him, he knows how to run his race. Darnborough was behind the selection at Southwell but he gets 22lb from Cap Elorn and could well have more to offer over fences for Tom Symonds off a mark of 78 in first-time blinkers.
