Verdict

JOHNS SPIRIT is a decent prospect judged on the way he skated up in a bumper at Newton Abbot last month. McCoy is in the saddle again and the four-year-old can make a winning start to his hurdles career at the chief expense of The Big Freeze, who also landed a bumper at the Devon track on his latest outing and will appreciate the longer trip. Fintan and Point West have both shown signs of ability while Peter Bowen will be hoping Pliny can go one better than here and at Uttoxeter recently, though he is a lot more exposed than some.
