Verdict

Moon Melody's record lends one to doubt his willingness to put his head in front, and with a similar story at Newton Abbott on Monday, we will turn elsewhere and it is KOH SAMUI that we turn to instead of Shanahan. Paul Flynn's son of Beneficial makes his chasing debut today following 11 winless starts over hurdles. Unlike some of his rivals, he is bred to improve over fences and he can see off his opponents here assuming he jumps sufficiently well. Bisley was quite well-fancied at Cheltenham over a year ago but was pulled up. He has since joined Charlie Longsdon and it will be interesting to see how he moves in the market. Connections retain the blinkers on Hareem as he tackles fences for the first time, Shanahan's distant third to Little Lu reads (depressingly) well in the context of this race, whilst My Pal Val was well-held when falling last time but it was still a promising first try over fences. Satindra wasn't a great hurdler and along with Joshua does not look the most obvious convert to fences. Of more interest is Popcorn Rosie who shaped much better last time at Newton Abbott in a similar race, whilst Kenwyn and Harry May must improve their jumping before they can be backed. Not a race to dwell on if truth be told but it could be a good opportunity for Koh Samui to make a winning chase debut.
