In depth

Verdict

A big field contest this handicap chase with New Time, Levallois and Lord Seamus all short listed but the nod goes to Maximus. The selection has been running well this season between the flags having only been out of the first three once when unseating. He managed to win when making all on his last run and if transforming his form between the flags he can go well here. New Time will have his supporters as he comes from the O'Neill yard and has the services of McCoy on board. But that might lead him to be a false price and others are preferred. Levallois and Lord Seamus are consistent types but do not win many races but out of the two the latter would be the better. So for the winner we give the tentative nod to Maximus.
