In depth

Verdict

Fresh Air And Fun has claims based on his second to decent yardstick White Oak, however the booking of Timmy Murphy for Donald McCain's Colonel Potter looks significant and whilst the yard is not firing on all cylinders, he gets the nomination ahead of Monty's Moon and Hemington. The last-named should come on for his debut run when given an educational ride and if benefiting from that experience he could play a part at a decent price. However, Colonel Potter was well-touted before his debut at Towcester and with this easier left-handed track expected to suit, Timmy Murphy could find himself back in the winner's enclosure. Fresh Air And Fun should appreciate this step up in trip today as he is a half-brother to 2m3f hurdler and he should be monitored for signs of support in the betting. Monty's Moon was well-held on debut but with the stable in form cannot be ruled out. Frisky John has shown a degree of promise but nothing to get excited about whilst the others have shown little, and therefore the logical conclusion is to return to Colonel Potter as the selection.
