A chance is taken with Twilight Avenger, whose in-form jockey considerably helps his cause with his confident attitude (his 5lb claim does no harm either.) Trysting Grove and Layed Back Rocky are others to consider, while a betting market move for Silver Mont would be dangerous to ignore. The last named has a consistent, if unspectacular recent profile. This is his grade and he has a solid chance of making the frame if he takes to the Wolverhampton surface at the first time of asking. Layed Back Rocky can be hit or miss and will never be one to trust implicitly. However, the gelding does go well here and a bold bid cannot be ruled out in this company. Trysting Grove has very little to find with the selection from their encounter at Southwell earlier in the month. She rates as a worthy alternative. Still, Twilight Avenger comfortably had her measure a fortnight ago and, from the same terms, he holds a viable chance of upholding the form today. On a cautionary note: the four-year-old is still a maiden after 37 previous starts; so a bare minimum stakes play is advised.
