In depth

Verdict

Hollywood George is preferred to Ice Box and Tilapia. Any runners from the Willie Haggas' outfit have to be respected at this time of year and while two runs have ended up in disappointment, this maiden does not look to be particularly strong on paper. A reproduction of a close-up third to Beauchamp Viceroy would suffice on Boxing Day. Ice Box runs here despite being eligible for nurseries. Easy to back on each of those outings, she is tried on the all-weather for the first time. Tilapia is a half brother to hurdler, Masafi, so he may well improve once stepped up in trip. Le Masque hails from a yard that had an impressive winner on Saturday so may be possible of improving on a recent Southwell effort. Haydock Express is watched in the market on introduction. Not the strongest of maidens ever to be staged at Dunstall Park and Hollywood George looks set to take a starring role.
