In depth

Verdict

Plenty have chances here, but we favour TAKEOVER BID ahead of Changing The Guard and Five Star Junior. The selection broke his maiden tag here, but that was over seven furlongs. A recent winner at Southwell over this trip, this represents a step up in grade for what is Mark Johnston's only runner on the card. He and Greg Fairley have a good strike rate when teaming up too. Changing The Guard won on debut at Great Leighs earlier in the month. He's got weight on his side for what is a step up in trip and grade. Five Star Junior is a hold up type who's chasing a hat-trick following successes over the trip at Kempton and Lingfield. It's a wide open looking contest, but our preference is for Takeover Bid.
