In depth

Verdict

Hat-trick hunting NAWAMEES should be able to succeed in his quest but should be strongly challenged by the ever willing Bridgewater Boys and New England shouldn't be ignored either. The selection has tuned up for this claimer with a very nice show in a selling hurdle at Fontwell last week. His versatility also stretches to the surfaces which he acts on as while those recent wins have come on fibresand he is just as effective on polytrack. Bridgewater Boys as been consistently good in this company over the winter and was comfortable winner over a similar stamina test at Southwell on his last appearance. That followed good a run, when second over course and distance in what has turned out to be a warm looking claimer and a continuation of recent form will, once again, have him close. New England's last two efforts, the latest behind Brigewater Boys, would give him a claim but he would have to improve to score while Calzaghe is weighted to be box clever but will have to punch above his weight to beat Nawamees.
