Verdict

Key Gold, a winner twice over this trip for Mark Johnston, has joined new connections and hasn't been seen since October but wasn't beaten far on her only Polytrack start. Daring Indian is on the same mark as when scoring over the trip at Haydock in August but hasn't run since well beaten over much longer trips the following month. Royal Peculiar joined Michael Appleby from Sir Henry Cecil and came good in a better race than this at Lingfield in December. A 2lb rise looks very reasonable but the front-running Illustrious Forest is 3lb higher than when caught on the line by Flying Power last month. HONEST DEAL has been in good form and made all for a very easy victory at Southwell last time. He's won on Polytrack in the past and Robert Winston can steer him home again. Neither of the remaining pair are out of what looks a tricky little handicap.
