Verdict

There's plenty to look forward to with promising Halling colts Pacifism and Age Of Reason but the latter is taken to win this argument. Sweet Hope can lead the remainder home. She improved for the fitting of blinkers to run out a wide margin winner of a maiden here last time but the handicapper has taken evasive action, rendering her vulnerable in this company. Pacifism has been brought along steadily and produced a taking performance over ten furlongs at Lingfield to win his maiden by half a length from a Derby entry with the pair pulling 7 lengths clear. Age Of Reason also beat a Derby entry on debut when handing McConnell a 3 length beating over a mile at Lingfield. He was value for more than the winning margin and showed a decent turn of foot, racing prominently before kicking clear with a quarter of a mile to go. He could prove more effective at this trip than Pacifism as there is plenty of speed on the distaff side of his pedigree and Age Of Reason is the call.
