Verdict

Top-weight REBELLIOUS SPIRIT can see off Empress Leizu in a weak handicap. Anthony Freeman's 7lb claim negates the penalty picked up for a cosy enough win here a week ago. He should swoop late for another victory with a strong pace fairly likely which will suit. Formidable Guest is a mare who runs the track well and she is 'thrown-in' on her old form, a comment that also applies to Cherri Fosfate and Douchkette with the latter having been in good form of late over hurdles. Cheek-pieces on Musigny and a tongue-tie on Lyric Poet need to have a positive effect, and therefore a bigger threat could be Empress Leizu with the return to this surface (the site of her sole victory) in her favour.
