In depth

Verdict

Red Eight ran as though something was amiss at this track having gone very close at Kempton before that. He was a long way behind Corton Lad last time and the latter has since won over C&D when SEWN UP finished runner-up and Classy Trick was beaten four lengths. Reg Hollinshead's colt is fancied to go one better in this and open his account. Mick Dundee was still beaten six lengths when third at Kempton and Maypole Joe makes more appeal.
