In depth

Verdict

If the unexposed ANNE OF KIEV can pick up where she left off last season she should take this handicap and with her yard more than capable of getting one ready after an absence we'll take a chance she can at the expense of Revue Princess while Welsh Opera should run her normal solid race. Obviously not the easiest to train, the selection was nevertheless mildly progressive last term collecting a couple of silver medals before getting off the mark in a maiden. That win was followed with a good debut in these ranks when finding just one too good off this mark and having proved a aptitude for going well fresh she can go close. Revue Princess will be a danger if coming out of her Newcastle engagement on Tuesday unharmed after scoring with something to hand at the same venue prior to that. Welsh Opera usually runs her race but is a little high in the weights to score while the same can be said for Metal Guru who is chasing a hat-trick.
