Verdict

Plenty to go on here as many of these have come face-to-face several times recently and, not surprisingly, Nick Littmoden is set to field a strong team on this return to his former stomping ground. J M W Turner has run to a consistent level in his all weather starts since November and has to be considered as threat to all despite having to carry top-weight. But he may struggle to reverse recent form with Massey on these terms and is reluctantly passed over for selection today. Peruvian Chief is always dangerous to rule out and his consistency on the track is usually reward when he is sent off at an each-way price. He deserves to win more races but he may need to drop a couple of pounds in the handicap before he can confidently be expected to visit the winners¿ enclosure again. James Stark, on the other hand, loves his racing at Dunstall Park and hinted at a revival with a fast-finishing third behind Justalord over the minimum trip here earlier in the month. The return to six furlongs should be in his favour today and he is taken as a value selection to steal the honours close home. Quito and Zarzu also merit consideration on their recent form and have to be placed on the each-way short-list if the prices permit.
