Verdict

SIR DON won on his second start in 2007 and 2008 and can repeat the feat in 2010. Well handicapped on old form, the selection isn't getting any younger at 11 years of age but he showed abundant speed on his return at Kempton before being worn down late on. Over this extra furlong one would expect to see more patient tactics adopted and they can pay dividends. At the other end of the age spectrum, Hidden Destiny needs watching in the market ahead of his handicap debut having shown his first real sign of ability last time, as is Suhayl Star now reunited with Luke Morris having dropped to a tempting mark. Liberty Trail has cheek-pieces on for the first time since last summer and could improve for their application while Polemica, who showed a modicum of promise here recently, is now tried in blinkers as connections bid to get a win out of their 10-race maiden.
