In depth

Verdict

Meydan Groove is the tentative suggestion with Hip Hip Hooray and Calahonda two interesting newcomers to note. The selection was the subject of a massive gamble on debut at Windsor and her performance has to be viewed as slightly disappointing in the context of that. However, it may be worth giving her another chance in what is probably a weaker race. Hip Hip Hooray hails from a yard that has already sent out a couple of well backed juveniles to run well and she should be watched with interest as she's bred to make a two year-old. Calahonda is a stablemate of a runner who also attracted support in the Windsor maiden that Meydan Groove ran in. That one finished second and it will be fascinating to see if there's any confidence behind this one's chances. There are also some representatives from the big yards in here and they cannot be ruled out with confidence but Meydan Groove is taken to recoup the losses.
