In depth

Verdict

Selkirk Lady could be of interest on her handicap debut stepping up to a more suitable distance but preference in a poor contest is for Wise Choice, who gets the vote ahead of Hamilton maiden winner Lolla's Spirit. The selection had become expensive to follow until taking advantage of a slipping handicap mark to land a Folkestone handicap in decisive fashion last month. Nick Littmoden's gelding remains on a fair mark following that effort and he is taken to follow up here. Joy In The Guild may now be a shade high in the weights, while English City is gradually dropping in the weights but is proving to be expensive to follow. Arcangela could well improve for being stepped up in trip on her first start in this grade and is another to consider but the vote goes to Wise Choice, who is taken to follow up.
