Verdict

LAGO INDIANO may put his experience to good use and take the concluding contest at the expense of Price Of Vasa and Golden Ratio. Amanda Perrett's charge is rated 76 after three solid runs and arrives here fit following the last of them, so with the possibility of further improvement far from ruled out he's the one they all have to beat. The colt steps up in trip here having found a talented debutant too good at Kempton, but this extra furlong is of no concern and Jim Crowley's mount should go close to breaking his duck. Prince Of Vasa is interesting on his return, particularly as he should be capable of more as a three-year-old. Mark Johnston farms this type of event and his charge ran well as a juvenile at Southwell, so providing he's fit for this return a big run is likely. The market will tell us more but chances are he'll attract a fair deal of market support, especially as Dettoti rides. Golden Ratio was behind one of Johnston's last time so it'll be interesting to see what the market says about her chance. Trainer Jeremy Gask also saddled the winner of Lago Indiano's last race so clues must be heeded, but our feeling is this filly will be seen to better effect once handicapping, despite the fact the form of her last race has worked out well. Crinan Classic is an interesting newcomer but one would've thought connections would have a professional booked if they expected a winning debut, so Baxter could be of marginally more interest with the Hills brothers combining again. Wadi Wanderer may be found easier openings in the future and Mahlak needs to improve so we'll return to Lago Indiano, although the market will reveal much more about this race.
