In depth

Verdict

Giant Slalom has been a model of consistency of late and is taken to gain a deserved first success of the year here, getting the verdict ahead of Chattan Clan and Kelamon. The last mentioned, a dual winner on testing ground on turf during the summer, has solid claims on that evidence but has paid the penalty at the hands of the handicapper. Telltime has struggled against the handicapper since scoring at Brighton in May but is gradually coming down to a fair mark, while Napoleon Dynamite has more to do than when successful in a maiden two starts ago. Chattan Clan is less exposed than most and could be of interest if staying this far but a safer bet looks to be Giant Slalom who would not be winning out of turn.
