In depth

Verdict

There are quite a number that can have a case built for them here, but we will give the vote to Danzare. Lightly raced, Danzare has to be given some thought, having proven he acts here and coming into this on the back of a Windsor selling win. Barons Spy looks fairly weighted for his all-weather debut, while course winner Magic Warrior has been off for two months since his latest win, which was his third in a row and for which he has been raised four pounds. However, he still has to be considered. Western Roots was running well here early in the year off a higher mark so has to be considered on that basis. Colonel Bilko is on a competitive mark if in a going mood, and Lawaaheb, who is not far above a winning mark, should be fit enough to do himself justice after two recent runs. Baby Barry has gone well here in the past from today's mark, as has We'll Meet Again, so they cannot be ruled out, while the well-bred and lightly-raced Artful Whisper is bred to go on dirt and might improve for it. Risk Free invariably runs his race on this surface, so might bag some place money, while Sriology comes here out of form, as does Charnock Bates One, who is well-weighted on form of 17 months ago. However, a more reliable option for today might be Danzare, who gets the vote.
