Verdict

Lucayan Monarch is out to get recent losses back and can do so at the expense of Lord Chamberlain, Pas de Surprise and Givemethemoonlight. Lucayan Monarch has been a useful servant to Jeremy Noseda and Paul Blockley over the years, and is set to give his new trainer Philip McEntee some fun over the next few weeks. He ran badly here last time when sent off favourite, but that did not stop his current connections from making the purchase, and the step up to a mile may bring immediate dividends. Lord Chamberlain failed to defy a penalty at Southwell after landing an apprentice event here on what was only his second outing since October. Upped in the weights since, he has to improve to trouble the selection. Pas de Surprise was having only his first start in over three months when third to Consonant 11 days ago and with his apprentice taking weight off his back, he has claims. Givemethemoonlight has been kept busy over the past few weeks, and despite the fact that she gives her all, may just need a little break. This is not an event to get heavily involved in financially, but Lucayan Monarch is the pick to small stakes.
