Verdict

Lots of winning course form on offer and from a lengthy list of dangers including Forever's Girl, Weet A Surprise, Louphole and TRI CHARA, it is the last-named who is taken to oblige. Reg Hollinshead's gelding runs without the cheek-pieces today that are often sported, however the interesting piece of form that he holds is a four-length fifth to Chief Exec here in July. That run was over seven furlongs but if he can hold his position from his good low draw then he should run well. Pipers Piping is a course and distance winner who races off a 3lb lower mark this evening, Forever Bond should appreciate the return to this surface following an average effort at Newcastle, whilst the consistent Ryedane is a horse who often goes a long time between drinks due to his hold-up style of racing. Louphole has a wide draw and an inexperienced pilot on board, however he looks a player given his three-length sixth to Ancien Regime although it probably flatters him somewhat. Weet A Surprise is consistent but all of her best efforts have come over the minimum trip, so the pair of Fyodor and Megalo Maniac may be of more interest if regaining some of their old form. Consistency means that Loyal Royal, Bertbrand and Desert Royal all feature highly on a list of dangers, however it is Tri Chara who looks worth chancing at rewarding odds.
