Verdict

This is quite a competitive handicap but it could pay to take a chance on FIRE UP THE BAND; the list of alternatives is headed by Weet A Surprise, Woqoodd and Eleanor Eloise. The selection is a useful performer on his day and although he has been a little disappointing of late, he does have a decent strike-rate on the all-weather. Weet A Surprise is another with some decent all-weather form but the simple fact is that he has not managed to get his head in front since 2007 so it is hard to be too confident about his chance today. Woqoodd ran his best race for a while at Lingfield last time and he has the plum draw so Derek Shaw's runner has to be respected. Eleanor Eloise may find this trip a little on the sharp side and she has also been drawn in the car park which will make life tough. There are plenty in with chances here and we will seek some value and side with Fire Up The Band.
