Division two of the seven furlong maiden and BARBARIAN who raced quite green throughout on his last start at Leicester can land this. Sent off the apparent stable second string on debut at Haydock, he stayed on quite well in the closing stages there over a trip that was clearly on the sharp side. The Leicester maiden which Barbarian contested at Leicester looked a decent maiden for the venue and presuming he has learned from his second outing, he should take all the beating here. Takeover Bid who finished third in the aforementioned Leicester maiden failed to justify that promise last time at Brighton where possibly a combination of the undulations which that venue offers and the mile was his undoing. Of the remainder the market should provide a good guide to what is expected of them. Hawkspring a newcomer by Hawk Wing has noteworthy connections while Venture Capitalist, half-brother to Alessandro Volta has shown precious little to date and qualifies for a handicap mark after this run but Barbarian is given the nod.
