In depth

Verdict

Four times a winner with Kevin Ryan earlier in the season, Granny Peel failed to match that form on her first start for Mel Brittain so may be best watched here with a safer bet looking to be The Italian Job, who gets the vote ahead of Shreddy Shrimpster. The last mentioned is entitled to be thereabouts judged by the pick of her recent form but she may just be a shade high in the weights. Queen of Narnia is capable but is fully exposed now and of more interest may be Mr Mini Scule, a stablemate of Shreddy Shrimpster, who has run well in sellers in his last two starts. A market move for Tim Pitt's Yungaburra could be of interest first time in this grade but preference is for The Italian Job. Tim Easterby's filly did not handle the testing conditions at Ayr last time but has solid claims on earlier form and, if taking to the surface, has solid claims.
