      Verdict

      Newtown Cross has won three races on Polytrack - all over two miles - so this looks on the short side. Like dual Turf winner Gaelic Ice, he's never raced on this surface while The Yank continues to climb the weights without winning though he arrives in good form. Black Iceman hasn't won for two years though can't go any lower in the ratings but Dancing Primo was never in the hunt on his first start over this trip a fortnight ago. Quite Sparky has had his two latest starts over a mile at Southwell, which he will have found much too short, though he hasn't won a race since 2011. DELAGOA BAY won a two mile handicap at Kempton in November in between being placed on this track. Her young rider's claim could just give her the edge.
