Verdict

Conor Dore's Total Impact comes into this in good form having not been out of the first two home in his last six starts but he has been done few favours with a draw in stall nine of the nine runners and a better bet may be INGLEBY STAR, who can confirm previous course and distance form with Grudge, meeting that rival on just 3lbs worse terms for a length and a half. Conor Dore not only saddles Total Impact and Grudge but also Punching, with the last mentioned having solid claims on form but being another runner from the stable with a tough looking draw to overcome. Several of the other runners have claims in a competitive opener but high draws are a concern for most of them. Reg Hollinshead's Bahamian Kid has been knocking on the door but is likely to find winning tough from stall seven, while the Andy Haynes-trained Desperate Dan has it to do from stall six. Milton Bradley's Lithaam has shown a consistent level of form of late and should be thereabouts again but he may once more have to settle for minor honours behind the selection, Ingleby Star.
